Trent is a founding partner of Frankfurt & Trani, P.C.  In 2004, Trent, along with Will Frankfurt, decided to form a firm committed to defending the rights of the accused and dedicated to providing aggressive, zealous representation to each client.  Since that time, the firm has assisted thousands of people prosecuted by law enforcement by obtaining numerous Not Guilty Verdicts, negotiating favorable plea bargains, or by convincing prosecutors that dismissal was warranted.

Trent specializes in criminal defense.  He is a seasoned trial attorney who has conducted numerous felony and misdemeanor trials in courts located throughout the State of Colorado.  From 1999 through 2002, Trent served as deputy public defender in the Denver office of the State Public Defender.  As a public defender, Trent handled over two thousand felony and misdemeanor matters, as well as numerous cases filed in Denver’s juvenile delinquent courts.  After leaving the Public Defenders office, Trent entered private practice where he continued his criminal law practice for another two years before forming Frankfurt & Trani, P.C.  Over the years, Trent’s clients have been charged with various types of criminal offenses including, First Degree Murder, Rape, Child Molestation, Sexual Assault, Child Abuse resulting in Death, Domestic Violence, Vehicular Homicide, and Driving Under the Influence/DUI.  Trent’s most notable recent trial results include Not Guilty verdicts in Vehicular Assault and Sexual Assault on a Child cases in Adams County, Colorado, Not Guilty verdicts in Driving Under the Influence/DUI and Domestic Violence cases in Denver County, Colorado, and a Not Guilty verdict in an Unlawful Sexual Contact case in Douglas County, Colorado.

Trent has handled a number of cases that have received both national and local media attention, drawing interview requests from local newspapers and television news programs as well as network programs such as Good Morning America, the Today Show, and Primetime Live.
